My first major scientific breakthrough for my PhD came in mid-2008. I also began playing the violin, improved in Taekwondo considerably and finally achieved an "official" level of fluency in French.

The year 2007 was my first full year of research as a PhD student. Natasha and I also married on September 1st, which is by far the most important and memorable event of this year.

In 2006 I worked as a freelance trainer for presentation skills, languages, team building & developement, etc. as part of my own small company "Paradigm Exploration". Parallel to these activities I searched for a PhD position and moved to Zürich, Switzerland to begin my PhD in Biosensors & Bioelectronics at the ETH Zürich. In the year 2006 I was extremely active on this website, which is evident in the number of weblog entries. My beloved grandfather, Neil Beaudoin, died near the end of the year.

This year marked the launch of my personal webpage after the completion of my term in the National Executive Committee of AIESEC in Germany.
